Huntsville, Ala. — June 2, 2026 — Summit 7’s YouTube channel has earned its Silver Creator Award by surpassing 100,000 subscribers in the company's mission to provide free cybersecurity and compliance education to the Defense Industrial Base (DIB).

Since launching the channel in 2012, Summit 7 has gained 104,000 subscribers and published 599 videos accounting for more than 6.1 million views. Fewer than 1% of channels on YouTube reach 100,000 subscribers. The channel has become a trusted resource for defense contractors navigating Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC), NIST SP 800-171, Microsoft Government Cloud technologies, and evolving Department of War cybersecurity requirements.

"From the beginning, our YouTube channel’s goal has been to provide free technical, security and compliance content to help organizations improve their overall outcomes," said Scott Edwards, CEO of Summit 7. "Reaching 100,000 subscribers demonstrates our success in providing practical, expert-led guidance as the defense industry continues preparing for CMMC and strengthens cybersecurity across the supply chain."

Summit 7’s wide array of free, high-quality educational content drives its YouTube success by keeping companies at every stage of compliance informed. Its podcasts include:

  • Sum IT Up, Summit 7's weekly cybersecurity and compliance news roundup covering developments affecting the Defense Industrial Base. Sum IT Up also includes monthly Cyber AB Townhall Recaps providing certification updates, ecosystem developments, and guidance impacting contractors pursuing CMMC certification.
  • CUI Hotline, an interactive series where experts answer real-world questions about Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), CMMC, and compliance implementation challenges.
  • That CMMC Show, where Summit 7 sits down with expert guests hailing from all corners of the DIB including CMMC Third-Party Assessment Organizations (C3PAOs) and prime contractors.

Summit 7's educational content has helped thousands of organizations better understand and integrate compliance obligations, avoid common implementation mistakes, and make informed cybersecurity decisions.

"One of the biggest challenges facing the DIB is the complexity of the compliance landscape," said Jacob Horne, Chief Cybersecurity Evangelist of Summit 7. "Education is the most effective way to improve cybersecurity outcomes, and we're grateful to our community of learners, customers, partners, and industry experts that tune in every week."

The milestone reflects Summit 7's broader commitment to cybersecurity advocacy and education through webinars, industry events, training programs, and thought leadership initiatives designed to strengthen the Defense Industrial Base.

As the channel enters its next chapter, Summit 7 plans to continue expanding its library of content, reaching more organizations across the DIB with practical compliance information.
